Your visa application photo must meet certain guidelines, such as a white background and full visibility of your face. Biometric information may also be necessary for some visas. If you have a national ID card, a scanned copy may be required, depending on the visa type and your country of residence.

Proof of good character is essential, and a police certificate may be requested. Civil documents like birth certificates, marriage licenses, and divorce papers may also need to be provided, along with evidence of name changes if applicable.

You must demonstrate financial means to support your trip, which can include bank statements, pay slips, taxation records, or evidence of support from family members or sponsors. The visa fee must be paid according to the process opted.

While health insurance may not always be mandatory, it is strongly encouraged. Some visa types may have specific health insurance requirements, and health exams may be necessary depending on various factors.

If someone is assisting you with the visa application, an authorized recipient form must be submitted. Evidence of a temporary stay plan, such as work contracts, employer letters, or real estate commitments, should be provided. A detailed travel itinerary with dates, places to visit, and proof of travel arrangements is required.

Accommodation reservations, such as hotel bookings or rental agreements, must be provided. If employed, a letter from your employer granting permission for your travels is necessary. If invited by a family member, friend, or for work purposes, an invitation letter should be included in the application.

  • Letter of consent from parents/legal students
  • Filled in and signed permission form
  • Statutory declaration
  • Undertaking declaration (in case when the minor applicant will be staying with an adult family member/friend in Australia)

Australian Visa Documents Guidelines

All documents must be in English. If they are not, you must have them translated by a verified translator. It is important to provide both the original documents and the translated versions.

If you are in Australia, the translation should be done by accredited translators recognized by the National Accreditation Authority of Translators and Interpreters (NAATI). If you are outside of Australia, the translator should provide their full name, address, telephone number, and qualification details.

Unless specifically requested, do not submit original versions of your documents. Instead, provide scanned, colored copies. The only exception is for police clearances, which may be submitted in their original form.

How do I verify my Documents?

To ensure the verification of your documents, follow these steps:

  1. Make copies of your original documents.
  2. Bring both the original documents and the copies to a person authorized to verify documents (as described below).
  3. The person verifying your documents should write or stamp the following statement on each page of the copies: “This is a certified true copy of the original as sighted by me.”
  4. If your documents have multiple pages, the certifier can write the statement on the first page and add their initials on each subsequent page.
  5. The certifier must provide the following information:
    • Full name
    • Signature
    • Occupation
