Documents required for a Schengen Visa from India?

If your intention is to visit a single Schengen country, you will need to apply for a visa specifically for that country. However, if your travel plans include multiple Schengen countries, it is advisable to apply for a Schengen visa and indicate the country that will serve as your main destination.

Required Documents for Visa Application:

  1. Invitation from the host along with supporting documents for accommodation.
  2. Duly filled and signed Visa Application form for all applicants.
  3. Two recent passport size photographs taken in the last 3 months, measuring 35×45 mm with a matte background. The photos should show 70-80% of your face.
  4. Valid passport, issued within the last 10 years, with a minimum validity of 3 months.
  5. Flight tickets for each country, including both arrival and departure.
  6. Detailed travel itinerary.
  7. Proof of accommodation for all hotels or Airbnb accommodations where you plan to stay.
  8. Travel or Health Insurance with coverage of up to €30,000 for medical expenses.
  9. Proof of financial means, such as bank statements for the past 3 months. If you have a sponsor, include a financially sponsoring letter.

Proof of Status for Visa Application:

To provide proof of your current status, please submit the following documents based on your situation:

  1. For Employees:
  • Employment contract or offer letter from your current employer.
  • Leave permission or a letter from your employer stating your authorized absence.
  • Income Tax Return or salary slips for the past few months.
  1. For Self-Employed Individuals:
  • Copy of your business license or registration documents.
  • Bank statements for your company’s account for the last 6 months.
  • Income Tax Return or financial documents demonstrating your income.
  1. For Students:
  • Proof of enrollment in a university or college.
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your educational institution stating your permission to travel.
  • For minors, a signed letter from your guardians providing consent for your travel.
