Types of Indian Tourist Visas:
- e-Tourist Visa:
- Eligibility: Available to citizens of over 160 countries. It is ideal for short-term tourists, those seeking short-term medical treatment, and individuals attending conferences.
- Validity and Stay: Valid for 30 days, 1 year, or 5 years. For the 1-year and 5-year visas, the maximum stay is 90 days per visit (180 days for citizens of the USA, UK, Canada, and Japan).
- Application Window: Must be applied for at least 4 days before the date of travel and no more than 120 days in advance.
- Regular Tourist Visa:
- Eligibility: Available to nationals of almost all countries.
- Validity and Stay: Varies widely, from 6 months to 10 years, depending on the applicant’s nationality. The maximum stay per visit is typically 90 days (180 days for select nationalities).
- Multi-Entry: Most regular tourist visas allow for multiple entries into India
